Why Do We Go To Church

That has been a question that has been in my head for a few days now. I have been asking myself why I go to church and I always thought it was because I believed in God but now I don't know why I go anymore. I keep asking myself why but i can't answer that anymore. I am so confused right now I am not sure of my faith and what the church says is true. I don't know if beign a christian is what I want. There has been to much going on in the church that has made me lose truths in the church. I don't know why I go to church anymore because right now I don't believe in God . I don't know if that will ever change. I have been living my life as a lie I am not living for Christ anymore.
In the last couple of weeks there has been an situation that has made me stop believing in God. I tried to fix something and I though that I did what God wanted me to do but it didn't happen that way.I feel like I have let God down and I have been doing that alot these few weeks. I don't know if God will be able to forgive me for what I have done. I know that I will never change. My life will always be a mess. I don't know what to do anymore becaues I just seem to always mess up and I am tried of that. I am tried of living a life like that.
All these questions keep popping into my head and I don't know what to do or how to get rid of the thoughts.
So my question is Why do I go to church if I live two different lives. I don't think it is right to be at church if you don't believe in God will that is what I think.

I think that you need to relize that the church is not perfect, but if we all leave then how are we to make things better? You need to not give up and remember that God WILL forgive you...it is written in the bible. I don't know how else to help you. You need to read the word and truly believe it because it is TRUE.
You also need to know that things wont always go as planned, thats life, but God will use these unexpected turn of events for his will, if you let him.
All the questions you have, I know that, that's satan speaking to you. He wants you to think those things. But you must listen to God and read his word.
Here's something that someone told me just the other day, And i have made this my prayer. "God help me change the things I can change, and accept the things I can't, and, Give me the wisdom to know the difference"
I hope this helps, I will be praying for you.

Hey,
This is very heart breaking...
For me, the biggest thing that I've been realizing lately, and I've heard alot, is words have power, if you say things will never change, do you really expect them to?? Also, another good thing to do is focus on the good, not the bad, I find if I pick out all the good things that is happening, I find it cheers me up. Remember that quote in the bible that says God will never give you more than you can handle, and he'll always provide a way out, and the way out is those good things in your life that God put there for you to focus on. I know that there has been things going on in your life, but we are not perfect, so why do we expect things to be perfect? Things are gona mess up, and things are gona suck, and there will be times where your in dispair, but, at those times we need to run to God. And I qoute from the perpose driven life, that we relize God's all we need, when God's all we've got... God allows these trials and hurts in our lives to shape us like Christ, if we want to be Christlike we have to go through what Jesus went through.... But if we think about it it is not even as close to bad as what Jesus went through...Ya I know it sucks but you can't give up hope.....

Top 10 Christian Resolutions
Friday, December 30th, 2005 at 12:09 am
Have you noticed that 90% of New Year’s resolutions revolve around dieting - and then a month down the road, they’re thrown right back into the rocky road container? One bite of pizza isn’t going to kill your diet- unless you view it as a complete failure and go full-out feasting afterward.

Slipping up here and there is bound to happen - it’s the ability to get back on track that will determine your success. Don’t be discouraged if you mess up with your resolutions - ask God, a mentor, a friend for a prayer of support, and get right back on that horse!

Here are some common resolutions I’ve heard floating around the Sunday school halls throughout my many years…They’re all awesome, but like Cicero once said “Hell is paved with good intentions. ” It sounds harsh, but resolutions are all about backing up the bootie with action.

1) Read the entire Bible during the next year
Read it as a book rather than for Bible study. This way you will be able to know what is in the Bible and where. It can be done - It is important to remember to also continue with your regular Bible study and to stop and meditate on Scripture that is speaking to you.

2) Commit to devotions
Commit to having personal devotions every day - reading Scripture, praying, and meditating.

3) Witnessing
Commit to being upfront about your faith with others.

4) Church attendance
Commit to go to church, Sunday school, and/or youth group every week.

5) Inviting
Commit to inviting one or more school acquaintances to your youth group.

6) Service
Ask your youth pastor what job needs to be done for the youth group each week and then commit to doing that.

7) Caring for others
Adopt a Grandparent. Adopt a person younger than you to mentor. Sponsor a child.

8) Outreach at school
Commit to starting a Bible Club at your school, or if your school already has one, commit to attending the meetings.

9) Fasting
Commit to fasting (from food, video games, MSN) for one day a month.

10) Forgiving a grudge

Love you lots.
